This piece is written to give us the part two of the “Earth Day Celebration at our own kitchens”. Earth Day is widely publicized nowadays, thanks to the media. Earth Day is a day wherein we dedicate our hands into caring for our environment and keeping it safe. At Iowa craft fairs, they provide free lessons and tutorials into how to celebrate Earth Day right into our own homes and backyards. Here are some of the tips I got from those which I would like to share with you today:

Place potted plants right in your kitchen windows. Potted plants serve as very good air filters and carbon dioxide reducers to your homes. They are also great in trapping the “food smells” and in giving your kitchens a fresh air. Aside from all of these listed benefits, potted plants are also great as decorations and improving the aesthetic appeal of your kitchens.

Tip number 2: when you are in the midst of remodeling your kitchen cabinets, just try to strip off the paint and place your new desired color paying particular attention to paint products that are low in VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds). This method is relatively easier, more cost-efficient and is more beneficial to the environment as your trash bin will not pile up with old cabinet junk.

Tip number three: avoid buying a new set of furniture pieces; rather opt for your old ones by giving it a fresh updated look. If you are in need of an extra china cabinet in your kitchen to store your precious plates and utensils, try to place an old bookshelf into the wall. Your old bookshelf will have a new, creative reuse as a kitchen china cabinet. Loving our planet means conserving our resources and doing everything to clear the air of its toxins- one at a time.

If visiting in Iowa, try to attend the craft fairs and sign up for the free Earth Day lessons. Be informed of the ways on how you can save our dear Mother Earth from terrible danger.

It’s springtime once more and I can observe that at this time people seem to be more jovial and cheerful, thanks to the Spring spirit that never fails to put a cheer on everyone’s face. Spring is definitely the start of a new season, the start of yet another fun-filled and great adventures for all of us. Spring festivals are great venues to celebrate the onset of Spring and at these places, Cook-offs are very much in demand.

Treat your tastebuds to a whirlwind of tour as a Spring Cook-off in your neighborhood gives you delectable and mouth watering treats. At Spring Cook-offs people try to contribute their best tasting treat every now and then. We can see chefs and restaurant owners at the top of their game who are showing off their culinary prowess to the public.

There are usual recipes at Cook-offs and these are barbecue, seafood, lamb and other grilled or smoked culinary treats. This is so because the activity of grilling and the smoke that emanates from a grill further enrich the experience of being in Craft fairs or Spring fairs. The most famous cook-off by the way in the country is the Arizona Chili cook-off, wherein a juried shows is created to judge the best tasting and spiciest barbecue recipe in the fair. This cook-off is annually done to promote public awareness on the historical and cultural significance of chili and to further the drive to make Chili as the National Vegetable of America.

Juried cook-offs are attended by a panel of judges that individually taste and rank the food based on the available criteria. The winning entry usually wins a cash prize and a special recognition for his/her outstanding recipe. Cook-offs are great places to have a full and satisfied stomach.

Are you aware that your happiness is directly proportional to your stomach? When you have a full stomach, you will have fun at the Spring Fair!

It doesn’t matter if you’re a songwriter, a producer or a recording artist. If you’re in the hip-hop field at all, then you need to concern yourself with rap instrumentals. While a lot of listeners will notice the lyrics first, don’t kid yourself – your music is equally important. If those lyrics don’t have a great beat behind them, no one’s going to care about the message. If you’re a producer, then rap instrumentals are your business, quite literally. Making the right beats for the right rhymes is what it’s all about – so learning a bit more about how to use the tools of the trade will make all the difference to your career.

Good lyrics need good rap instrumentals which support the feel and the message they carry. Of course, it doesn’t matter how great your lyrics are if they’re matched up with weak beats. The wrong beat means the listeners won’t get into it and your lyrics won’t get heard. You want to make beats which work with your lyrics to form a whole which is greater than its components. You aren’t just looking for a beat; you’re looking to create something new from your music and your lyrics working together.

There are those who think that they can buy their way to good beats – and it’s true that there are some good beats you can buy. But it’s your own original beats which will really get your demo noticed. Making your own beats demonstrates your creativity and your dedication to your music and an understanding of how the music industry works. If you’ve got great lyrics, that’s wonderful – but your rap instrumentals have to be every bit as good as your lyrics if you want the end result to be something truly great.

It’s also important to make sure that you know the kind of music that you want to do, and when you want to make crunk beats, you’ll find that you need to know more about the music itself. For instance, what kind of beats make crunk sound as different and as unique as it does? With crunk beats, you are looking at looped, stripped down drum machine rhythms that are played alongside a simple repeated synthesizer and heavy bass beats. You’ll also find that crunk beats seem to be somewhat slower than a lot of hip hop; it might be best compared to reggaeton.

What are your career goals in the music industry? If you’re aiming for success in hip-hop, then work on your lyrics, by all means – but don’t forget that your rap instrumentals are just as important and need just as much hard work put into them. Lyrics plus beats sounds like a simple recipe, but there are an infinite number of variations. Having the right tools can help you to make the beats you’ve always dreamed of making which will let you rise to the top.

We will talk a little about finding downloads, with your movie reviews right after that. You can download many products like game downloads, ipod downloads, and movie downloads. Trying a keyword phrase like “Video Game Downloads” will provide different results.

From Nashville with Music: Some excellent country and western music, although one would be better served to purchase one of the actors’ albums rather than agonizing through this tale of a New York couple who go to the Grand Ole Opry by accident. Cast includes Marilyn Maxwell, Leo G. Carroll, Pedro Gonzalez, Marty Robbins, Merle Haggard, and Buck Owens. (87 minutes, 1969)

Skyscraper Wilderness: Fred’s a flier on leave who meets photographer Leslie; Benchley’s supper talk, Astaire’s “One for My Infant” and “My Beaming Hour” make this work. Cast includes Fred Astaire, Joan Leslie, Robert Benchley, Robert Ryan, and Elizabeth Patterson. (103 minutes, 1937)

The Adding Machine: Accountant becomes despondent upon comprehending he’s to be substituted by a pc. This Elmer Rice comedy-fantasy is imperfect however fascinating. Diller has an abnormal role as a harridan. Cast includes Milo O’Shea, Phyllis Diller, and Billie Whitelaw. Directed by Jerome Epstein (1969-l00 minutes rated PG).

Mannequin: Unsurprising script, however fine poke by megastars, typical MGM glass even in the tenements! Cast includes Joan Crawford, Spencer Tracy, Alan Curtis, Ralph Margan, Lea Garcey, and Elisabeth Risdan. (95 minutes, 1937)

Abbott and Costello in Hollywood: A disjointed comedy with Abbott and Costello cast as a barber and a porter in Hollywood. This film provides a few glimpses behind the scenes at MGM with Lucille Ball, Preston Foster, Butch Jenkins, and controller Robert Z. Leonard. Your cast includes Bud Abbott, Lou Costello, Frances Rafferty, Robert Stanton, Jean Porter, and Dean Stockwell. S. Sylvan Simon directs (1945 Comedy)

Aberdeen: This movie puts two highly addicted people struggle to deal with each other. A woman addicted to coke takes her alcoholic father from Norway to Scotland by car. They have been separated from each other for years. Now they are forced together on this long journey. Stars include Stellan Skarsgard, Lena Headey, Ian Hart, and Charlotte Rampling. (2000 Drama)

No Mercy: Chicago cop Gere storms into Louisiana Bayou nation desiring the slaughterer of his partner, falls for Cajun beauty Basinger who’s been “sold” to the kingpin culprit of the town. Even meaningless melodramas have to make sense, a minimum of on their own terms; this one’s pretty absurd. Cast includes Richard Gere, Kim Basinger, Jeroen Krabbe, George Dzundza, Gary Basaraba, William Atherton, and Ray Sharkey. (105 minutes, 1986)

Aces High: Aces High is a British war film that deals with WWI. There are exiting dogfights with WWI planes. We follow a pilot’s view of this war as he is lead by a disheartened squad leader. Malcolm McDowell, Christopher Plummer, Simon Ward, and Peter Firth star. (1976 Military)

Talladega Nights: The Battle o Ricky Bobby: This is a crazy comedy with NASCAR racing as its platform. Ricky Bobby has become one of the best drivers in NASCAR. When an accident puts him out of action, he loses his nerve for racing. With nothing but racing in his life, Ricky Bobby must find a way to overcome his fear, and return to his championship form.

A phrase like “Online Movie Downloads” might get a good result. When one search fails to succeed just change things and try again. You should punch in “Movie Share” for another set of results.

“The first thing I did with my very first camera was climb Mt. Fuji. Climbing Mt. Fuji is a lesson in determination and moderation. It would be fair to ask if I took the moderation part to heart. But it certainly was a lesson in respecting your camera. If I was going to live with this thing, I was going to have to think about what that meant. There were not going to be any pictures without it.” —Annie Leibovitz

Annie Leibovitz describes how her pictures were made, starting with Richard Nixon’s resignation, a story she covered with Hunter S. Thompson, and ending with Barack Obama’s campaign. In between are a Rolling Stones Tour, John Lennon and Yoko Ono, Demi Moore, Whoopi Goldberg, The Blues Brothers, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Keith Haring, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Patti Smith, George W. Bush, William S. Burroughs, Kate Moss and Queen Elizabeth. The most celebrated photographer of our time discusses portraiture, reportage, fashion photog (more…)

A film festival is shown in Illinois every onset of Spring or during the month of April which is called the Eberfest. The name came from the founder of this festival who is Roger Ebert. The festival is also formerly called as “The Overlooked Film Festival”. It features films that are “overlooked” by viewers but are very meaningful and great films to watch. These mostly comprises of indie films or international short films. Ebert is the one who personally handpicks the movies for showing.

On a quick history, Ebertfest was formerly called as Roger Ebert’s Overlooked Film Festival. It is organized by the College of Communication in the University of Illinois. It will be held at the nostalgic and famous Virginia Theatre of Champaign. Every year, 12 to 14 films are being shown at the festival. Ebert really makes it a point to offer the public very good and quality “overlooked” films through his prestigious festival. It is deemed to be a place where one can see “unheard of” quality films.

Each year, the festival shows one silent film together with a live orchestral accompaniment. An example of a silent film that the festival has shown is the famous horror flick: “Nosferatu”. Musical films are also shown once in a while at the festival because Ebert feels that it is also overlooked. The Ebertfest really gave the “overlooked” films much exposure and mileage.

Before the start of the film festival, Ebert is known to give speeches and introductory remarks about each film. He enthusiastically gives everyone a preview and slight synopsis of each story without going into the full details to still contain the mystery and curiousness of the audience. It is safe to say that Roger Ebert is a film aficionado himself for having to come up with this kind of festival each year.

If you are visiting from Illinois, never forget to experience one of Illinois’ finest by attending the Ebertfest this year.
